I fear you give Haley more credit than she deserves. From my observation of her career aince 2015, she says exactly what she thinks will profit her most at any particular moment. No way to tell what, if anything, is sincerely meant.
people can be racist. countries aren't racist. the harm being done in American cities today by the schizoid members of the hood makes these concerns about our history take a back seat. we have been in crisis mode since the Berlin Wall came down and the evil empire was no longer a rallying point. america is hanging by a thread.
It is certainly going to be interesting to see how it turns out. I suspect that Haley's prospects in her home state are going to depend on the results of the NH primary.
Maybe you should forward this to her Kevin and point out her inconsistent moments while highlighting her efforts with the flag. Possibly she needs a nudge from someone like yourself who is not part of her circle for her to wake up and see what is standing right in front of her. (I know I'm asking a lot!!!!)
*smdh* She'll never acknowledge systemic racism. Heck! She truly may be ignorant of it (I'm trying to be generous). Here's the thing, Nikki. The very fact that you (or your parents) felt the need to familiarize your beautiful, given name so that it'd be more acceptable in American culture is exhibit #1. She can keep living on that river called denial. As they'd say in the south, "Bless her heart."
I hear you, but keep in mind that a lot of people from a variety of ethnic groups over the years have changed their names to be more acceptable or for any number of other reasons. I am not even asking Haley to acknowledge "systemic racism," just the fact that Trump apparently stands for the very things that she claims to believe in.
Oh, I know we live in the land of nicknames and assimilation. It's one way she's whitewashed her history, to the extent she doesn't recognize her level of denial. And you know what? That's probably pretty good for her, to help preserve her ego and superego as she navigates the cesspool of presidential politics. I feel sorry for her. No one deserves the level of abuse any woman in that space must endure.
It's hard to know where her personal story and the politics of history intersect. All I know is that this is an opportunity to put her principles to practice if they mean anything at all to her.

I try to give as many people as possible the benefit of the doubt, but you may be right.

Nonsense. Countries that pass racist laws and persist with racist social structures are racist.
Also, capital letters are useful in written text.
Countries are run by people and you said people can be racist so doesn’t that mean countries can be racist?
She understands that she needs to win the South Carolina primary.

I hope others are nudging her. Thanks, James.
