I am putting together an itinerary for a civil rights tour of Alabama that will bring 150 high school students from Brooklyn, New York through Tuskegee, Montgomery, Birmingham, and Selma.
Wow! This trip sounds amazing. I wonder if there is a SNCC presence in Selma, who might be able to help you with best ways to leave a positive financial impact. Hmmm ...
Back in January, didn't an EF2 tornado touch down in Selma? Might've been mostly out in the county away from the bridge but maybe a donation to tornado relief in the area? As for the tour, I'm glad you do those. A friend in NY's grandsons participated in a similar trip—when one wrote his college essay later, he talked about how the trip changed him.
I will think about what you might contribute! Great idea. I used to teach in Brooklyn and I'm glad to hear of your trip. Are you partnering with a particular school?
Contact the mayor’s office?
Already on my list. Thanks, Suzanne.

This is a great idea. Definitely going to look into it. Thank you.

It went right through the center of town. I saw the impact for myself during a trip back in January.
Kevin, as someone in Montgomery who thinks about this stuff a lot, I’d be happy to brainstorm with you. Also I’d love to see you when you are in town!
Will be in touch, Kate.

Yes and thank you.
