Chris teaches journalism at St. Bonaventure University in New York. He wears many hats in the field of Civil War history. Chris is the co-founder of Emerging Civil War, which showcases the writing of a wide range of new and veteran historians of the Civil War era. In addition, Chris is a widely sought after tour guide, who has led the public on numerous battlefields throughout the country.
In this interview, we talk about his new book, A Tempest of Iron and Lead: Spotsylvania Court House, May 8-21, 1864.
Chris’s book is an excellent introduction to the battle, the broader Overland Campaign, and the soldiers’ experience.
