Kevin, has the museum issued a statement explaining their position and addressing the objections?

They issued another statement this week, but it didn't go beyond their initial statement from a few weeks ago.

I'm with you. This museum is off my list. It's a disgrace.

Just shaking my head. Wonder what American Revolution they're talking about. Believe it or not, I've never been to Philly except in the airport or driving through and I've planned to go several times, but I can guarantee this won't be on my must-see list.

More on M4L:

“Conservatives just can’t get enough of Robert F Kennedy Jr.—a Democratic candidate for 2024's presidential election. For them, he’s a political dream come true.”

“And the fondness appears to be mutual. Kennedy agreed to speak at a conference put on by Moms For Liberty, the anti-LGBTQ+ hate group that recently quoted Hitler in their newsletter.”

Why a history museum should welcome a group that is racist and anti-semitic, and often aliied with violent extremists suchas the "Proud Boys", as well as opposed to the teaching of history, is a mystery. What's in it for the museum, other than opprobrium?

If I remember correctly, Skousen was so far to the right that J. Edgar Hoover (!?!) thought he was a threat. Glenn Beck heavily promotes Skousen and brought him back into prominence after he'd been relegated to the fringes.

Who owns this museum? Did a few minutes of digging and couldn’t find out. While I was at their website I sent them my thoughts:

You should be ashamed to allow M4L, identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group, to use your facilities, thereby lending their efforts your approval.

As a school librarian, who has followed their attempts to ban books about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Ruby Bridges, the Civil Rights Movements, and the history of school segregation, I recommend you remove books from your museum shop related to your exhibit on Black Founders. M4L members may see it as their duty to steal them, to protect children from such “lies.”
