I had to read it twice to figure out you meant Firdt White House of the Confederacy. I thought that this and the Capital building a few blocks away were both monuments to the lost cause. They have a plaque built into the marble of the capitol building stairway marking exactly where Jeff Davis stood when he took the oath of office.
Really glad you pointed out that not only is that guy wearing a Confederate uniform, but that it's a FARBY Confederate uniform as well... that fact just makes it even worse.
Thanks for the tip on the Forever Scholars Civil War course with Prof. Peter Carmichael. Class was very interesting and provided tools for interpreting primary source letters from Civil War Soldiers and Civilians.
I see that you have a Sarah Churchwell book. I don’t know if anyone is interested in F. Scott Fitzgerald or Hemingway but she’s an expert on Fitzgerald and had a very engaging appearance on the Hemingway 1 True Pod podcast, https://www.hemingwaysociety.org/node/985
The book is interesting. I've been advising an Atlanta museum that is putting together an exhibit on Mitchell and *Gone With the Wind.* The book has been helpful in thinking through a number of issues/questions.

Wonderful. Pete is a dynamite scholar and teacher.

So much great content in this post. All the links will keep me busy all weekend. And OTIS!
Glad to hear it.
