In 1974, thirteen year old Patricia Bailey, from Gary, Indiana, responded to an article in Ebony magazine about racial problems in Tuskegee, Alabama. She focused specifically on comments made by Florida B. Segrest and her defense of Tuskegee’s Confederate monument.
I wonder where Patricia Bailey is today? And where are the teachers she learned so well from. I hope Ms. Bailey is still writing today.
Good question. I hope she is sitting on a city council or school board. :-)
