I have missed the interaction that took place in the blogs of the old days. Twitter was a fun, real-time alternative, until it wasn’t. I am hoping that the even in the haze of the current political firestorm , we can once again enjoy intellectually stimulating exchanges. Thank you for broadening the net of who can participate.
Thank you! I do a lot of research on the Civil War, as I had family on both sides from Eastern Tennessee. I've never asked a question or left a comment, but upgraded so you can continue with this endeavor. My 2nd great grandfather is buried at Andersonville along with his 18 yr old son. I want to continue to honor them with the truth.
Thank you again,
Carmen Denise Upton King aka Princess of Roots on bluesky. I'll find you there.
Great idea. I'm a new subscriber and just discovered you on Blue sky which I joined recently. I'm looking forward to seeing the comments and posts and joining the live chats.
Thanks for doing this. I'm new here and while I'm good with paying for a subscription, I can't join everyone all at once! I can only afford 1 or 2 subscriptions each month!
Thank you! This is the kind of good faith effort that I believe can help us make the change we need to make. Writers deserve to be paid, and we don’t see enough remuneration. But people who can’t afford a lot really, really need sources they learn from and trust right now, for all our sakes. Thank you.
Always good to talk and listen to you Kevin. With that in mind, have you heard Victor Davis Hanson's takes on Trump and his upcoming presidency? I'm curious as a historian and knowing Dr. Hanson's background as a historian, do you find his suppositions grounded or are they claims that others might find baseless?
Missed it last night but definitely looking forward to more live discussions!! Thank you!!
All good ideas. Count me in.

You bet. Hope to hear from you more, Shoshana and I hope you are doing well.
Kevin,
Thank you for continuing to support teachers! We truly appreciate it! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I had some great professors in college in the 60'. You remind me of them.
Re 1619 and 1776, they are two sides of the same coin.
1776 is heads, and 1619 is tails.
Or you might say, one is the deck. The other the hull.

Great to hear from you, Alan. I am confident that you are going to find a very engaged group of people to interact with and learn from.
I’m glad to again be able to comment and see others’ comments too. Thank you for doing this.
You are very welcome.
Kev.....does this mean I am out....Dad
Nothing will change. Just keep the comments coming. 😀

Looking forward with great curiosity (& some dread) to this worthwhile discussion.
Thank you-oh-oh-ohhhhoo. I'm a poor non-profit desk jobber and could not budget the subscription fee.

Hi Bob,
I am not familiar with VDH's take on Trump and his presidency. Sorry.
