In honor of Women’s History Month, I want to take a moment to recognize and share the work of some of your favorite female historians.
What’s the last history book you read by a female historian? It can be from any area of history.
This week I read Carole Emberton’s brand new book, To Walk About In Freedom: The Long Emancipation of Priscilla Joyner.
And I am about to begin Megan Kate Nelson’s new book, Saving Yellowstone: Exploration and Preservation in Reconstruction America. Megan and I are good friends. In fact, we are members of the same book writing group here in Boston, so I have already had a chance to read and comment on an early draft of sections of this book. She is a wonderful writer and this promises to be another entertaining and immersive read from Megan.
So go ahead and drop a title or two in the comments section below. I am always looking for new books and new historians to check out. Thanks.
