I am heading to Gettysburg in a couple weeks to take part in the Civil War Institute’s annual conference. In addition to giving a talk about Robert Gould Shaw, I am also going to lead a tour of the battlefield with Peter Carmichael and Jill Ogline Titus.
It got me thinking.
